The British detainees in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba will be returning back to the UK after 2 years of illegal captivation. Hopefully Human Rights will prevail and the USA government will be forced to try these people or let them go.
See: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3545033.stm The right to a trial and not to be detained without just reason is a fundamental right of democracy, heck just plain human rights. If Americans (by American I mean USA citizens) where held in this situation in North Korea then the marines would be sent in to rescue them. Thinking about it probably not since the United States of America are scared of North Korea - they would rather pick on defenseless countries with oil e.g. Iraq! It does seem that all the evidence that the USA government had to hold them there was that they are "bad people" as George W Bush called them. On this issue take a look at: http://www.interwebnet.org/
Hopefully everyone will now get the fair trial
they deserve! |
