Bang goes the star in M100

Well bye bye to another star as it converts its life into an almighty explosion... take a look at [Faulkes] for a rather cool animated gif of M100, the largest spiral galaxy in the Virgo cluster, as the star goes nova. If you are interested in other recent supernovae I suggest you take a look at: [harvard page] there are some that are quite bright. This is definetly something an amateur with a decent camera could do...
